Day 8 – “Amaranth” I’m sorry this is a day late. Tuesday was filled with driving, my acrylic class, and getting chores done. Anyway, this color gets its name from the flower. There are many varieties of this flower but the one I found that closest matched the color is Amaranthus caudatus, or “love lies bleeding.” The word stems from Greek amarantos “not fading” and anthos “flower.” Amaranths grow on Mount Olympus supposedly never ceasing to die.
For this I used a layered mix of two copic markers, RV04 – shock pink and R43 – bougainvillaea (also a flower name) #latepost
